Cody Austin
Voice
American tenor Cody Austin is a 2009 graduate of the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. Past engagements include the Duke in Verdi’s Rigoletto for Opera Santa Barbara and Alfredo in Verdi’s La Traviata for Utah Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, and Wichita Grand Opera. Cody also appeared as Faust in Boito’s Mefistofile with Knoxville Opera and Don Jose in Carmen with Sarasota Opera. With Opera Tampa, Cody has performed Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Ferrando in Cosi fan Tutte, Alfredo in La Traviata, and Alfred in Die Fledermaus. Cody made his European debut as Pinkerton with Opera på Skäret in Sweden, and spent last summer in Central City, Colorado performing the same role. Concert work has taken him from Beijing to Dubai, as well as several cities across the USA. In addition to his work as an active performer, Cody has nearly 10 years teaching experience as a private instructor. Cody and his family are now living in Tampa.
